I tried Chloe Ting's famous 2 week shred challenge - this is my experience

I have recently started going to the gym, and found a routine that I enjoy and I can commit to. However, everything suddenly changed, a.k.a, our friend Covid-19 decided to appear right where I was beginning to enjoy my time at the gym. In lockdown, and with little to no equipment at home I found myself a little bit lost. I tried several workouts online but because I am not a professional trainer, I didn't know what videos to do each day.


One day, a friend told me about Chloe Ting's famous challenge. Apparently it is so famous and I was the only not aware of it. She told me "you have to tried out, you literally get abs in 2 weeks!!!!". After hearing that, I was curious as well. At first I was skeptical at how you could possibly have abs in 2 weeks but I decided to look it up.

Chloe Ting has a wide range of challenges from: 1 week abs, 2020 get peachy challenge, 15 days intense core challenge, but her most famous challenge is the 2 weeks shred challenge. Chloe has 3 shred challenges (2018, 2019 and 2020), and each year gets more and more difficult and technical. I have done so far 2 challenges and this is what I though about it:


  • Approachable and Flexible

Before getting to know these challenges, I did videos at random and was so frustrated because I didn't see any results. I did the workouts, I sweat, but nor abs or "peachy" butt appeared.

Chloe Ting's challenge is easy and quick to do it. She does all the pre-work for you by setting out a plan and you just simply have to follow it. The plan consists of:

  • 2 days rest

  • 2-5 videos each day

  • 25-50 minutes each day

  • no equipment needed, only a fitness mat



The great thing about this challenge is that it's flexible. For example, on days where you body is sore or just very lazzyyyyy, you can decide to choose the one day that has the littlest amount of minutes and then changed it with another workout. You can even add more rest days if you feel like it. At the beginning, it can be hard, specially if you have not workout before, therefore take as many rest days as you wish to keep the motivation up.


  • You actually see results within ONLY 2 WEEKS!!

The most insane part about this, is that by following the workout plan prepared by Chloe Ting, you can get abs within two weeks. That is JUST CRAZY!! It can't be any more simple than this.

Actually looking at pictures can give you motivation to do the workout. That's what worked for me. Every day that I was feeling a little lazy, well, who I am kidding... when I could not get up of bed, I started to look at pictures of transformation with this challenge and that actually got me more motivated. Plus the great thing about it, is that I can literally jump out of my bed, put on some gym clothes and do the work right in my bedroom. That easy!!


  • However... workout is just 50% of the journey, you need to maintain a "healthy" diet

By all means, a healthy diet does not mean eating salad every day, it's about maintaining a healthy, balanced diet with all the nutrient necessary to have energy for your workouts and the rest of the day. If you stop eating, you won't get abs. FOOD IS NECESSARY FOR THE FORMATION OF ABS, BUTT, etc...

She also has many videos on "What I eat in a day" in order to get some inspiration. However, you can decide to get creative and cook dishes of your own. Try to be balance and healthy because it will enable your body to power your muscles, and to help you have more energy for next workout.



  • Be consistent and positive

You've done the challenge, you have abs... ok great, but the story doesn't end there. Abs are forever if you stop working out. Once you have been able to do the 2 weeks shred challenge, I recommend you to move to the next shred challenge with different videos. The challenges each year are similar in pattern and, believe me, you will do much better on the second challenge as you will be much more in shape.

Be consistent, do your workouts and get the results you want. Nobody said it would be easy, because if not everyone would have abs. Take care of yourself and your body.

Exercise doesn't only benefit your body but your mental health as well.

  • Increases your self-esteem

  • Improves your mood

  • Decreases anxiety

  • Decreases depression

It is a fun adventure that has amazing results. Try it out and feel good about yourself. Take a step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to become an even better person.
